Animeland July Meetup and supporting venture:

Behold! otaku gathered in March of 2009 at the Four Points Sheraton
to experience anime in it's glory, despite rain, 17 inches of snow,
sleet, hail and a wedding...and it was good.
And lo! in that Land of Anime, the gaming force of NVGA's Colorado
Cutthroat Connection, forged in the fires of awesome and win, was
linked to Animeland Wasabi for the first time, ...and it was
good.
And lo! that connection begats another opportunity for the
congregation to come together.

NEW Questions answered:
So will there be an Animeland Wasabi 2010?
Uhh...YEAH. Good news and bad news, though. Good news: we saved a TON of money on our car insurance by switching to that one company.
Bad news: looks like the hotel we intended to make home for a couple of years is shutting down. That's right...we're moving AGAIN! I know...it puts you out. But I CAN
make it up to you. We're working on a new spot. No worries...we'll make sure there are no weddings happening.
Do we have to pay for the Formal again?
Yes. BUT! It went SO well this past year that we want to do it up even BIGGER and BETTER than before. That means snazzy party favors, pictures and cd's! Didn't get your disk from this year?
Let us know (sorry Neo!)!
OLD Questions answered:
Are you trying to make another MySpace with this site?
Umm...depends on what you mean. Another MySpace? No chance, we can't hold a candle to that juggernaut. What we ARE trying to do is create a community. Let's face it, you come to these things is to get stuff and see guests, but what you REALLY want is to hang out with your friends. Why wait for the show? Build the anticipate, prepare and plan online in an environment that your used to. This also gives us a chance to share information about the show FASTER as well as gives us an idea on what you want to see happen. This ain't about us...it's about you.
Do I have to log in to see more details?
Yup. Hey, I hate it when sites make me do it (possibly more than you do!), and we had DAYS worth of debate over it. In the end, reason won out. We want to build a community. We want everyone to be involved. Whether you're a 100+ a day forum poster, or a silent, marginally creepy lurker...we want to know you're here. Our casa is your casa, but if you could just let us know your name before you come in, that would be awesome.
Thanks again for taking part in what I hope could be one of the greatest endevours to ever hit anime: The AnimeLand Experience!
